The Top Four Teams in Transfer Portal Recruiting

Colorado

Colorado has pulled in a class that could have them competitive immediately. We all saw what happened to USC this season. The hiring of new head coach Deion Sanders is already paying dividends. They have 17 portal commits so far and that number could grow. Five-star WR and DB Travis Hunter and four-Star QB, and son of Deion, Shedeur Sanders followed Coach Prime over to Colorado. They have also picked up commitments from four-star Seydou Traore, a tight end from Arkansas State, and Jimmy Horn. Horn is a wideout from South Florida and is also a four-star transfer. A few notable three-star transfers committed to the Buffaloes include OT Savion Washington, DE Marshawn Kneeland, and Vonta Bentley, who comes over from Clemson.

Coach Prime has already been making an impact at Colorado since his move there from Jackson State.

Florida State

The Seminoles have the best class in my opinion. They currently have six four-star transfer commits, with the biggest name being the South Carolina transfer tight end, Jaheim Bell. To add onto that, they have two three-star portal players coming to Tallahassee in OL Keiondre Jones from Auburn and DL Darrell Jackson from Miami. Florida State looks to be even better next season, I see them being serious contenders to win the ACC in 2023.

Bell has been one of the best tight ends in the country for the past two seasons.

Arizona State

Arizona State has a four-star and 19 commitments overall. OT Aaron Frost is the lone four-star and comes in from Nevada. New coach Kenny Dillingham is off to a hot start at his Alma Mater. Dillingham has the rare opportunity to completely rebuild this program after the Herm Edwards disaster. I am very interested to see where the Sun Devils are in a few years.

The Sun Devils hired Dillingham as the HC after he served as the OC for Oregon in 2022.

LSU

LSU has five four-star commits and two three-star commits. They are looking to add a few more portal players before it is all said and done. Head coach Brian Kelly did the unthinkable in year one in Baton Rouge. Everybody was clowning at him for his fake accent and said he couldn’t adjust to the SEC. All he did to respond was win ten games, beat Alabama, win the SEC West, and win their bowl game 63-7. LSU is continuing to build off of that with a strong portal class.
