With Early Signing Day being yesterday, let’s take a look at the teams who took the biggest hits yesterday.
Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish are the biggest losers of the day and it’s not really up for debate. Notre Dame started the month losing four-star RB Dylan Edwards to Colorado, hinting at what was to come on ESD. The Irish lost a pair of commits to Oregon, with those two prospects being two of the higher-regarded players in the class. Five-star safety Peyton Bowen flipping is an embarrassing one for the Irish, as they are seen as the third-place team for their former top commit, as the Sooners were just behind the Ducks. Four-star RB Jayden Limar followed suit, as the Washington native decided to stay on the West Coast.
Glass half full: the Irish secured 24 signees and are still in the Top-10.

Ohio State
Although the Buckeyes landed four-star Edge Joshua Mickens, missing out on another major prospect on the defensive line is why I view them as a loser, as their history of putting defensive linemen in the NFL generally speaks to recruits. Five-star edge Matayo Uiagalelei signed to Oregon and while fellow five-star edge Damon Wilson pledged to Georgia, two prospects OSU felt confident in. Four-star CB Kayin Lee only added salt to the wound, backing off of his OSU commitment, and flipping to sign with Auburn.
Glass half full: the Buckeyes still have a top-five class.

Ole Miss
The Rebels added a three-star WR in Cayden Lee, but that’s not enough for them to avoid being a loser on the day. Just days before ESD, JUCO commit Izavion Miller flipped to Auburn, followed by four-star QB Marcel Reed flipping to Texas A&M. As if things couldn’t get worse, four-star Edge Neeo Avery announced his decision to flip to Maryland yesterday. Losing two of your top eight recruits in a span of just a few days is never ideal, especially when that puts you at the bottom of the SEC in terms of recruiting rankings, as the Rebels currently sit at 12th in the conference.
Glass half full: Lane Kiffin has displayed his ability to dive into the portal and come out with a big haul. Though the flips weren’t preferable, Rebels fans should express optimism in Kiffin recovering.
