Early Signing Day is here, and the Early Signing Period has begun. It has already been an exciting day. It is early, and the craziness has just begun. So let’s see what has already transpired so far today.

Arch Manning, QB

Isidore Newman High School, New Orleans, Louisiana

#1 nationally, #1 quarterback, and #1 in LA

Five-star quarterback Arch Manning, the number one overall player in the 2023 class, signed with the Texas Longhorns. He becomes the highest recruit in the Steve Sarkisian era in Austin. Manning will enroll early, and he could challenge Quinn Ewers for the starting job next season.

Quarterback Arch Manning (16) throws a pass as Newman takes on Lafayette Christian Academy in the LHSAA Division III semifinals on Nov. 24, 2021.

–Cormani McLain, CB

Lakeland High School, Lakeland, Florida

#2 nationally, #1 cornerback, and #1 in FL

Cormani McClain, the five-star Florida cornerback, committed to the Miami Hurricanes in October but will not sign today. McClain, considered the top defensive back in the class, chose the Hurricanes over the Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators. However, the Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders have been in contact with him, and a flip could be possible. This development will be an interesting one to keep an eye on.

–Peyton Bowen, S, Guyer High School, Denton, Texas (#14 nationally, #2 safety, and #3 in TX.)

Five-star Denton (TX.) Guyer safety Peyton Bowen flipped his commitment to the Oregon Ducks from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Oklahoma Sooners were also high on his list, but the Ducks won out, and they are having an excellent day so far.

James Smith, DL

Carver High School, Montgomery, Alabama

#18 nationally, #2 defensive lineman, and #1 in AL

Five-star in-state Alabama defensive lineman James Smith has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, choosing them over the Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, and Georgia Bulldogs. He adds to an Alabama class that was already the number one in the nation that has only gotten stronger today.

–Qua Russaw, Edge

Carver High School, Montgomery, Alabama

#22 nationally, #3 edge, and #2 in AL

Qua Russaw, a five-star Alabama edge, will stay close to home as he has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, joining his high school teammate and fellow five-star James Smith, who committed simultaneously. Russaw chose Alabama over the Auburn Tigers, Alabama State Hornets, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He adds to an already robust Crimson Tide class.

–Matayo Uiagalelei, Edge

St. John Bosco, Bellflower, California

#31 nationally, #5 edge, and #4 in CA

Matayo Uigalelei, a five-star edge from Bellflower (CA.), St. John Bosco, will be an Oregon Duck. He chooses the Ducks over the Ohio State Buckeyes and USC Trojans. Uiagalelei adds to the Ducks class that picked up commitments from five-star Texas safety Peyton Bowen and four-star Texas quarterback Austin Novosad.

–Tony Mitchell, S

Thompson High School, Alabaster, Alabama

#54 nationally, #5 safety, and #7 in AL

In-state four-star Alabama safety Tony Mitchell signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide after being committed to them since June 26. The Auburn Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies were trying hard to get him to flip, but ultimately Crimson Tide won. As a result, Mitchell will be an early enrollee and be in Alabama in January.

–Daylen Austin, CB

Long Beach Poly High School, Long Beach, California

#109 nationally, #12 cornerback, and #9 in CA

Four-star California cornerback Daylen Austin flipped to the Oregon Ducks from the LSU Tigers. He had been committed to the Tigers since May before flipping to the Ducks. Austin also was interested in the Louisville Cardinals and Michigan State Spartans as he officially visited them. He adds to a Ducks class that will only rise in the rankings with the day they are having.

–Joshua Mickens, Edge

Lawrence Central High School, Indianapolis, Indiana

#131 nationally, #20 edge, and #2 in IN

Four-star Indiana edge Joshua Mickens signed with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He had been committed to the LSU Tigers since June before backing off his pledge on November 28 after an official visit to Columbus.

–Micah Tease, WR

Booker T. Washington High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma

#194 nationally, #9 athlete, and #3 in OK

Four-star Oklahoma athlete Micah Tease signed with the Texas A&M Aggies on Wednesday. He had been committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks until he backed off his pledge this week. The Aggies had been the favorite since then.
