3 Underrated Offensive Prospects in the 2023 Draft Class

Lead draft analyst Luca Sartirana highlights three players who are currently too far under the radar for the 2023 Draft

Neither the NFL nor the College Football seasons are over, but yet we are already in full draft season, and it’s time to really dig in on the 2023 prospects. As many guys are already on everyone’s radar, it’s time to talk about some players who really deserve more love.

Tory Horton

Wide Receiver, Colorado State

Although he hasn’t declared for the draft yet, Nevada transfer Tory Horton is one of the most slept-on prospects thus far. After transferring to Colorado State, the junior pass catcher broke out with a big-time 1131 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns campaign that made him one of the absolute best deep threats in the country.

Horton has good size at 6’2”, and he’s a speedy receiver who stretches the field vertically with ease. He can win at both separation and the catch point, and is very physical despite being listed at only 180 pounds.

Horton is a dynamic threat that also displayed the ability to be an electric playmaker when returning punts. The young pass catcher can impact a NFL passing offense in multiple ways and if he declares, as he could easily turn into a valuable steal that would likely get selected on day 3. Horton is a legit NFL receiver and deserves much more attention.

Sep 17, 2022; Columbia, South Carolina, USA; Georgia Bulldogs running back Kendall Milton (2) rushes behind the blocking of Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Broderick Jones (59) in the first quarter at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Kendall Milton

Running Back, Georgia

Milton will be part of a Georgia team that will try to become back-to-back National Champions in a couple of weeks, so his status regarding the draft is unknown as well. While his teammate Kenny McIntosh gets much more of the hype, Milton displays the traits of a potential significant NFL contributor too.

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

The former four-star recruit hasn’t been a workhorse back throughout his career with the Bulldogs and could consider a transfer in order to try improve his draft stock. But when given the chance, he has certainly looked like legit NFL material. At 6’1”, 220 pounds Milton is a physical back who also has very good athleticism: he’s explosive and has solid long speed which allows him to put together big runs quite often. Milton has everything needed in order to become an above average committee back at the next level.

Sep 17, 2022; Salt Lake City, Utah, USA; Utah Utes quarterback Cameron Rising (7) throws the ball in the first quarter against the San Diego State Aztecs at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Cameron Rising

Quarterback, Utah

Rising obviously gained some attention after taking down USC for the second time in a season while securing the PAC-12 Championship but at the same time he doesn’t get much recognition as a prospect. The veteran prospect doesn’t have elite upside, but as an accurate, wise passer at all three levels able to make things happen with his legs, he definitely projects as a potential long-time backup able to take on some spot starts in the NFL. After the first five prospects at the position, the situation gets muddy but Rising could easily emerge as a solid option.
