In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Caleb Williams was the right choice for the Heisman.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I love Max Duggan and his overachiever attitude. And I’d rather vote for a kid like Duggan who overcame heart surgery and losing the QB job at the start of the season to a playoff berth. But this has to be Williams. As Heisman contender after contender dropped off as the season wore on, Williams was consistently amazing.

2. Troy Taylor can succeed at Stanford.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I gave Jason Garrett half a shot because of his Ivy background and NFL experience but the little known Taylor doesn’t have a great shot here. Stanford is a great university and has great weather, atmosphere and academics but we are in a world of NIL and the transfer portal and the first is lacking and the second is damn near impossible with Stanford’s academic transfer requirements. This is a very hard job and unless things change he won’t have much of a chance in the PAC 12 or the Big Ten if they move.

3. Jim Harbaugh NFL rumors will never die.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Never. Not ever. And it will get worse. And it will continue for as long as he’s in college football. The Colts job is the latest but just watch, there will be more. Arizona? The Rams? You name it if a job opens he will be mentioned. But he’s not going anywhere as Michigan continues to climb as a true national title contender.
