Portal Fact or Fiction: Erick All, Austin Reed, Jaheim Bell

In Mike Farrell’s Fact or Fiction — Portal Edition, he predicts whether Erick All will end up at Notre Dame…

In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. TE Erick All lands at Notre Dame.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Rumor has it that All will land at Notre Dame, Iowa or Colorado as Deion has come on strong now, but give me Iowa here for a few reasons. Former Michigan QB Cade McNamara is headed to Iowa so there is familiarity and Iowa has a great reputation for producing tight ends. I know, I know — Notre Dame does as well and there’s no doubt about that. But All is on a redemption mission and staying in the Big Ten makes it just a bit sweeter for him.

Michigan tight end Erick All catches a pass against the Hawaii during the first half on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, in Ann Arbor. Mich

2. Austin Reed lands at Louisville.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Reed, the prolific Western Kentucky QB, hasn’t been talked about a ton. He’s the No. 2 passer in college football and is quietly being pursued by many. But Jeff Brohm wants him badly I hear to join him at Louisville to install his offensive playing style and I think it will be the right fit for Reed.

Western quarterback Austin Reed (16) passes the ball during the MTSU Homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022.

3. TE Jaheim Bell will land at FSU.

Farrell’s take: FACT

These are where the rumors have him landing and where there is smoke there is fire. But what if Kyle Morlock commits this weekend? Would the D-2 star keep Bell away from Tallahassee? I’m hearing Bell doesn’t care but UGA, Ole Miss and others are after Bell hard as well. But I like where the ‘Noles stand here.

Nov 19, 2022; Columbia, South Carolina, USA; South Carolina Gamecocks tight end Jaheim Bell (0) stiff-arms Tennessee Volunteers defensive back Tamarion McDonald (12) in the second half at Williams-Brice Stadium.
