We’ll keep the scouting reports rolling on the latest big commitments across the country.
Samuel M’Pemba – IMG Academy, Bradenton, FL
Committed to Georgia
Edge prospect who originally attended Ladue Horton Walkins in Saint Louis, MO. Very good size and length with very good explosiveness, functional strength, and good short area quickness. Leverages his length against blockers to keep a half-man ratio and fill his gap even when engaged. Keeps his eyes on the backfield and reads what gap to shed into instead of barreling towards the ballcarrier. Very good tackling form and uses his strength to deliver punishing blows that threaten a forced fumble while wrapping up and guaranteeing the tackle. Varied pass rush kit that forces slower lineman to guess what counter-move to use. Good motor, will not quit on plays and tries to chase down runners.
Adequate speed, more refined OL are able to keep up with him around the edge. Slow off the snap due to inability to key the play pre-snap and immediately focuses on reading. Very good pickup for Georgia that would be in the rotation immediately if they didn’t have the deepest defense in the FBS. Fits Georgia’s need for an edge rusher that can also put his hand in the dirt if they want to come out in a 4-3 or 4-2 package.

Spencer Fano – Timpview High School, Provo, UT
Committed to Utah
OT Prospect that received attention from every P5 conference. Solid height and weight with good length, very good strength, and good lateral quickness. Quick and powerful initial punch with good hand placement. Aggressive blocker that looks to take people out of the play. Plays with good leverage and has the power necessary to generate drive in the run game. Quick through his set points and has no issue with speed rushers off the edge. Reads oncoming blitzers well and will hand off a man inside to take on the oncoming man. Very good competitive toughness, doesn’t quit on blocks and clearly loves the game.
Size may end up preventing him from excelling on the outside. Needs to learn to let go of a block and look for another one downfield in the run game. Adequate ability to anchor and can get blown up by power rushers. Plays against much smaller and weaker players and may have some growing pains at the next level. Good overall prospect, will need some time to develop and figure out if he’s a tackle or guard but should provide lots of value as a nimble lineman at the next level.

Brandyn Hillman – Churchland High School, Portsmouth, VA
Committed to Notre Dame
Elite 11 invitee that will likely play the gadget slot receiver role at the next level. Good height, weight, and length with very good speed, agility, acceleration, balance, and hip fluidity. Can use his very good overall athleticism to create separation at the top of routes. Understands the rhythm of an offense thanks to his time at QB and will understand when to lengthen or shorten his stride. Gets skinny through closing holes with very good burst to get through them. Can stop on a dime and weave his way through the defense. Creates additional yardage in the open field with his athleticism and good juke and stiff arm moves to fight off solo tacklers. Good balance and needs to be fully wrapped to be brought down. Good mental processing to read defenses and should apply it as a receiver to settle in zones or drag away the safety in man coverage. Competitively tough player, not afraid to challenge tacklers and celebrates with his teammates when they make a big play.
Not a bad passer but mechanics aren’t as developed as they should be for the next level and his athleticism would make him way too hard of a target to defend. His ability to run routes and his hands are questions at the next level as he’s not asked to catch passes in his offense. Very good overall prospect, receivers with the game knowledge of a QB tend to fit into any offense. His athleticism will get him into many offensive packages and his ability to take the top off the defense combined with his passing potential will be a headache for many defensive coordinators at the next level.
