Mike Farrell gives you the latest transfer portal rumors on hot targets like Hudson Card, Tony Grimes and more

The transfer portal never stops moving. Here are some notes for you.

— TE Kyle Morlock is likely to end up at Florida State, at least, that’s what I’m hearing as of today. He has a visit set for this weekend and Tennessee is pushing hard for a visit after that but it could all end if he likes Tallahassee. The D-2 TE played three seasons at Shorter University and totaled 57 receptions for 890 yards and 11 touchdowns. He recorded 30 receptions for 446 yards and six touchdowns in 2022 en route to Division 2 All-America honors.

He blew up on the FCS portal in late November and was a skinny, slow wide receiver out of high school in Georgia who has emerged as an elite FBS prospect. The Seminoles are close to home and he likes the offense.

Texas quarterback Hudson Card (1) directs the Longhorns offense during the game against West Virginia at Royal Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas on Oct. 1, 2022.

— If Bo Nix doesn’t come back to Oregon (and it would be a stunner if he did), watch for the Ducks with Texas transfer QB Hudson Card. The new offensive coordinator, Will Stein, was Card’s OC in high school and the connection is strong.

— Let’s not count out one sleeper school for Clemson transfer QB DJ Uiagalelei. While he’s been linked to UCLA, Oregon and Arizona State, let’s not count out Virginia where his former offensive coordinator Tony Elliott is the head coach. Brennan Armstrong is gone and Uiagalelei might not want to try to learn a new offense. While he didn’t succeed in 2021 under Elliott he liked him quite a bit and showed flashes early in the Clemson career under Elliott.

— CB Fentrell Cypress from Virginia is likely headed to Ohio State as the Buckeyes are pressing hard. Tennnesse, Ole Miss, Syracuse, UNC and others are also involved. He hails from Virginia but played his high school ball in South Carolina and I expect the Gamecocks to get involved as well.

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

— UNC CB Tony Grimes is a former 5 star who chose the Heels over Georgia, Ohio State and others out of high school. The Buckeyes have been rumored but I’d keep an eye on Oregon here as well if they are interested. Dan Lanning was the man who tried to recruit him to UGA. Texas A&M is also of interest.

— WR JoJo Earle, a transfer from Alabama, seems linked to Texas right now.

— LB Justin Flowe who is leaving Oregon has been linked to USC and Colorado so far but will have a ton of options.
