In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Blake Corum got robbed of NYC Heisman invite.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Stetson Bennett is nice and all, but Georgia would be a playoff team without him. You could argue the same about CJ Stroud at Ohio State, so to me this comes down to TCU’s Max Duggan and USC’s Caleb Williams. And Corum, the heart and soul of Michigan football with 1,463 yards and 18 scores, should be there as well. He’s as important to any elite team this season and it’s a shame he won’t be in NYC to at least be honored in that way as a finalist.

2. Kevin Wilson deserves this second chance.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
He was a great coach at Indiana but was also forced out for mistreatment of players. And while we all learn lessons, it just seems odd in this day and age to give him another FBS head coaching job. Maybe I’m being too sensitive which is unlike me and I know Tulsa, where he will be the next head coach, has done their due diligence but it just seems odd to me.

3. Scott Satterfield made the smart move to Cincinnati.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He made the right move for himself that’s for sure. Satterfield was on a hot seat coming into this season, but was clear of that after the Wake Forest game at mid season. But after a 7-5 season and with a great recruiting year in 2023, a step forward next season would be expected. So why not take the Cincinnati job for more money and be given at least three more years of Power Five coaching. It’s a smart move.
