Daevin Hobbs Commits to Tennessee, Keon Keely and Arion Carter Set to Visit Alabama and Other Names in the News

–5-star EDGE Keon Keely, Berkeley Prep, Tampa, Florida.

Keon Keely, the No. 7 overall, No. 1 edge, and No. 3 player in Florida, will be in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl on Saturday. He is one of the highest remaining prospects who remains uncommitted, and it looks like the Crimson Tide are the leaders for him. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine have them in the lead over the Ohio State Buckeyes, Florida Gators, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. I like the Crimson Tide here as well. He was also at Bryant-Denny Stadium when the Tide hosted the Texas A&M Aggies and said the visit went really well. 

“Alabama has always been in a great position. I like Alabama. Like the coaches, I like the players, and I like the feeling in the air. I could see myself going there.” 

My prediction is he will choose the Crimson Tide.

–4-star DL Daevin Hobbs, Jay M. Robinson High School, Concord, North Carolina.

Daevin Hobbs committed to the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday afternoon, choosing them over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Ohio State Buckeyes. Adding Hobbs, the No. 95 overall and No. 11 defensive line prospect, now gives the Volunteers the No. 11 recruiting class overall and fifth in SEC. He said he chose Tennessee because he felt at home. 

“I just felt at home when I was there compared to the other schools. I feel like I can shine the most at Tennessee and develop my game to a higher level.”

The Volunteers still have a chance at a few other top recruits that would definitely move them into and give them a top ten recruiting class.

–4-star DL Darron Reed, Carver High School, Columbus, Georgia.

Darron Reed, who had been committed to the LSU Tigers since July, flipped his commitment to the Auburn Tigers on Friday afternoon. He is the No. 202 overall, No. 31 defensive lineman, and No. 18 player in Georgia. Auburn remained in the mix, despite his pledge to LSU, and Reed was at Jordan-Hare Stadium when they hosted LSU. He said he felt a connection to Auburn. 

“I just feel part of the family. Everybody down there was real. They hold up to what they tell you they’re going to do.” 

His flip is a big win for Auburn, and despite the loss for LSU, they still sit at No. 5 in the rankings.

–4-star WR Anthony Evans, Judson High School, Converse, Texas.

Anthony Evans, the No. 284 overall, No. 39 wide receiver, and No. 53 player in Texas, flipped his commitment from the Oklahoma Sooners to the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs. He had committed to the Sooners in August, choosing them over the Bulldogs but was in Athens when they beat the Tennessee Volunteers. As a result, he becomes the fourth wide receiver in the Bulldogs class that ranks second overall, trailing only the Alabama Crimson Tide.

–4-star LB Arion Carter, Smyrna High School, Smyrna, Tennessee.

Arion Carter, the No. 318 overall, No. 24 linebacker, and No. 6 player in Tennessee is another player who will be at the Iron Bowl to see the Alabama Crimson Tide take on the Auburn Tigers. He was also in Tuscaloosa when the Tide hosted the Texas A&M Aggies. Carter was committed to the Memphis Tigers before he backed off his pledge on November 16. Since then, Alabama has been the team in the lead for him, and the On3 RPM gives them a whopping 97.4% chance to land him. I agree with that, too, and this could happen as early as this weekend.
