Week 11 of the College Football season has passed by, and it was another great Saturday of big games and recruiting news. First, in the Big 12, the #4 TCU Horned Frogs invaded Austin and beat the #18 Texas Longhorns. Then, in the SEC, you had the #9 Alabama Crimson Tide winning at the #11 Ole Miss Rebels and the #1 Georgia Bulldogs beating Mississippi State Bulldogs. Finally, in the Pac-12, you have the #25 Washington Huskies upsetting the #6 Oregon Ducks, and Arizona upsetting #12 UCLA. So let’s review where some of the top recruits were this weekend.
Names in the News
–4-star CB Bravion Rogers, La Grange High School, La Grange, Texas.
Bravion Rogers is the No. 42 overall and No. 6 cornerback in the 2023 class and the No. 8 player in Texas. He committed to the Texas A&M Aggies in September but will be at Darrell K. Royal Texas-Memorial Stadium this weekend for the TCU and Texas showdown. However, with the Aggie’s struggles on the field and recruiting, this visit is something to keep an eye on.

–4-star CB Javien Toviano, Martin High School, Arlington, Texas.
Javien Toviano is the No. 43 overall, No. 7 cornerback in the 2023 class, and the No. 9 player in Texas. He was one of a handful of prospects in Austin taking in the big game. Toviano was in Death Valley last weekend when the LSU Tigers knocked off the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the 247 Sports Crystal Ball and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine have the Tigers in the lead for him. However, he only says a little about his recruitment, so no one knows where he is leaning. I think the Tigers are in the lead, and will likely land him.

–4-star DL Johnny Bowens, Judson High School, Converse, Texas.
Johnny Bowens is the No. 295 overall, No. 41 defensive lineman, and No. 54 player in Texas. He has named the Oregon Ducks, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas Longhorns and will announce his decision on Thanksgiving. Bowens had an official visit to College Station last weekend when the Aggies hosted the Florida Gators. In September, he was also in Eugene when the Ducks hosted the Stanford Cardinal. I like the Aggies here, and the 247 Sports Crystal Ball and On3 RPM also have him selecting them.

–4-star 2024 QB Marcos Davila, Midland Legacy High School, Midland, Texas.
Marcos Davila is the No. 313 overall, No. 23 quarterback, and No. 46 player in the state of Texas in the 2024 class. He was in Starkville this weekend when the Mississippi State Bulldogs hosted the Georgia Bulldogs. Davila has offers from the Bulldogs, the Arizona Wildcats, Baylor Bears, Houston Cougars, Michigan State Spartans, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and TCU Horned Frogs, to name a few. However, the Bulldogs could have an advantage over the other programs due to their offense and head coach Mike Leach. Davila said,
“I can definitely see myself playing for Leach. They have a well-known offense.”
It is early in the process for Davila, but the Bulldogs look to be in the lead right now.

–3- star 2024 QB Austin Mack, Folsom High School, Folsom, California.
Austin Mack is the No. 402 overall, No. 30 quarterback, and No. 33 player in California in the 2024 class. He was another of the many big names in attendance for the TCU Horned Frogs and Texas Longhorns. Mack has offers from mostly west coast schools that include the Arizona Wildcats, California Golden Bears, Colorado Buffaloes, Oregon Ducks, Oregon State Beavers, Stanford Cardinal Washington Huskies, and Washington State Cougars. However, Mack has said he is just focusing on finishing his season as they head to the playoffs. He added,
“But I am hoping that if some new offers come, it’s maybe from the Midwest or the SEC or somewhere like that.”
