In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Tennessee will win it all.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I love what I see from the Vols, but with Georgia and possibly a rematch with Alabama left on the slate, it will be hard to run the table. This offense can’t be stopped, we know that, but the defense has some serious issues to be concerned with as they try to match up against UGA and their ability to run the football and play the power game. I think the Vols lose to UGA and fall short of the SEC title game.

2. Michigan can challenge Ohio State.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I didn’t think they could but this running game has me convinced they can give Ohio State some trouble. The Buckeyes have a great passing attack and can run the ball but Michigan can control the clock if they run the way they have been and keep this rivalry game close. Ohio State wins but it won’t be the blowout I expected.

3. Texas can win the Big 12.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
The Longhorns are rolling a bit but let’s remember they have some huge games ahead and don’t match up well with teams like TCU and Kansas State who can run the ball effectively and play a power brand of football. The schedule has Oklahoma State, TCU, Kansas State, Kansas and Baylor. No way they are winning the Big 12.
