Fact or Fiction: Lincoln Riley, New Big 12 Teams, and Brock Glenn

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

Lincoln Riley was running from the SEC

Farrell’s take: FICTION

In a recent interview, the new USC head coach said he wasn’t running from the SEC, he was running towards a great opportunity with the Trojans. And I believe him. But money certainly helped as well and NIL played a huge part. Oklahoma would have been competitive in the SEC under Riley and honestly I think they would have been a real problem. But Riley always had the temptation of running and NFL team and with NIL being so important and LA the Mecca for opportunities, he can kind of do that now in college.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

One of Cincinnati, UCF, or Houston will win the Big 12 in 2023

Farrell’s take: FICTION

The trio gets to leave the AAC and suit up in the Big 12 in 2023, and one of them, most likely UCF, will make a run. But there won’t be a new Big 12 winner that season as the conference is actually in very good shape despite the scheduled departure of Texas and Oklahoma who knows when. 2023 is a long way away but Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State all look like they are trending in the right direction.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

QB Brock Glenn will still choose Auburn

Farrell’s take: FACT

He was an Auburn lean and then Florida, FSU, Ohio State, and others came in after the Tennessee 4-star QB. And with Ole Miss set to land Jaden Rashada, according to sources, the Gators especially could turn up the heat. He will take a long look at a few and Bryan Harsin has a big year ahead of him, but I still like the Tigers here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
