Fact or Fiction: Greg Sankey, Arch Manning, and Ohio State

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or  FICTION.

Greg Sankey was wrong to silence other SEC coaches Fact or Fiction?

Farrell’s take: FACT

The best thing for college football and the SEC in May is a feud between a coach and his former protege. That’s what we have with Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher as Saban accuses his former assistant of buying players through NIL. Forcing Saban to back off his statements a little was the right thing for Sankey to do, but not allowing other coaches to chime in? C’mon. Every SEC coach should have their own choice whether or not to comment on this feud and the NIL issue and we all wanted to hear what Lane Kiffin had to say. With all this transfer portal and NIL madness turning some off from college football, this kind of drama in the SEC is more than welcome.

UGA has the most momentum for Arch Manning Fact or Fiction?

Farrell’s take: FACT

I can tell you this from a very, very good source. Back in December, the Georgia Bulldogs were not only the team for Arch Manning, but they were near a commitment. So what happened? Caleb Williams entered the transfer portal, Kirby Smart pursued and things fell off. Since then UGA has done an amazing job to get back in this race with Alabama and Texas, neither of whom showed interest in Williams or any other quarterback since the New Year. Yes, the Longhorns landed Quinn Ewers in the portal, but that didn’t seem to deter the Mannings at all. But after loving Austin as the best college town at first it appears Athens is the place where the Mannings feel Arch can have the most normal college life. I honestly think UGA might have the edge now.

Ohio State is WRU now Fact or Fiction?

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Think about it. With two first-rounders this year and Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr., and others on the roster, who else could you pick? Well, how about LSU? Kayshon Boutte should be a first-rounder next year and Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson were first-rounders the previous two NFL Drafts and are already stars in the league. Give me LSU in a close battle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
