[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Jaylon Robinson’s college path has been less than ideal. He started out at Oklahoma, and after struggling to break into the line up as a young player left for UCF. At UFC Jaylon has played very well. But with coaching changes among other circumstances Robinson entered the transfer portal. He came out on the other side a Ole Miss Rebel.

About Jaylon the Player

Jaylon is listed at 5’9 and 180 lbs. He has been an explosive player for UCF. In 2020 he averaged nearly 18 yards per catch on his way to 979 yards and 6 TD season playing alongside Dillon Gabriel. Jaylon missed much of 2021 with a knee injury, but is expected to be available for summer ball in Oxford. Jaylon is a speedster, who does most of his damage from the slot, but can also play outside. He was a reliable player, and was trusted in clutch situations. He is athletic, and has a solid catch radius for his size:

Jaylon’s game is the long ball hower:

What Does This Mean for Ole Miss?

First and foremost it means Lane Kiffin punked Miami (FL) and Tennessee en route to landing the talented transfer WR. The Rebels have done a sensational job in the portal all offseason so it should come as no surprise. Jaxson Dart and Mike Trigg alongside Jaylon Robinson is a nice array of skill guys in the passing game. In addition they also managed to bring in RB Zach Evans from TCU.

today, Jaylon just transferred to Ole Miss ?

Secondly, Ole Miss struggled last season when it came to WR depth. They ran out of pass catchers at one point last season, so having more is never a bad thing. Perhaps, with a healthy room of pass catchers they lose one less game going into bowl season? With Braylon Sanders still in the room they have a pair that can threaten the defense downfield at a consistent basis. With the RPO game, and play action game being a big factor as well.
