Who is Sullivan Absher?

Sullivan Absher is a 4-star 2023 OT from South Point High School in Belmont, NC. He is listed at 6’7″ and 290 lbs. He is a multi-sport athlete who plays baseball and basketball in addition to football. Absher chose the Irish over the likes of North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee and Clemson.

How Soon is he expected to contribute?

Notre Dame has been an NFL factory at the line of scrimmage, one could argue easily that they are “OLU”. The Irish have several blue chip prospects that made to South Bend before Absher, so it isn’t likely he play early, and almost no chance as a freshman. However, that is okay. Notre Dame’s resume of getting lineman drafted and seeing them have a successful career are very and the development and waiting will be worthwhile for the young man. In addition, his high school rarely passes so he will need time to work on his technique in pass protection which is not where it needs to be as of yet. However, with his athleticism and long arms should be molded into a strength.

Impact for the Irish?

They just keep grinding on the recruiting trail, and remain the clear top ranked class according to all recruiting services as things stand today. The staff and mentality on the trail brought in by first year head coach Marcus Freeman is hardly matched throughout the country. In addition it sets up what you need, Notre Dame has never struggled to recruit in the trenches, it has been other positions. The big deal here is that there has been no drop off, or trade off here with coach Freeman. It would do the Irish little good to get a better WR prospect to turn around and struggle on the trail in an area that was once a strength. The idea is to stack more quality, not have a net neutral result. Clemson was believed to be a heavy leader just a week ago, so this commitment was a real coup for the Irish.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
