Fact or Fiction

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

The New York Jets won round one

Farrell’s take: FACT

This was a great draft for the Jets. CB Sauce Gardner was expected at No. 4 and WR Garrett Wilson was not a surprise at No. 10 but to trade back into round one to land the free-falling DE Jermaine Johnson who is a steal at No. 26. Joe Douglas did a magical job here.

The NY Giants rolled the dice with their two picks

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Many expected OT first and then rush end or something else at No. 7. And many expected OT Charles Cross from Mississippi State instead of Evan Neal from Alabama. But if you told Giants fans they would have DE Kayvon Thibodeaux and OT Evan Neal with their first two picks they would be thrilled. And they should be.

Someone will regret not taking QB Malik Willis

Farrell’s take: FICTION

I don’t agree with Kenny Pickett to the Steelers and had only Willis as a possible, and I emphasize possible, first-round talent at QB but there will be no regrets. Willis isn’t Tom Brady and he’s not going to make the league pay for his slight. And he’s not Aaron Rodgers so a chip on his shoulder after sliding in the draft won’t matter much. He’s solid, he has very good upside but I don’t see a difference maker in the league.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
