[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1583″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Minnesota is down another running back as Mar’Keise Irving has announced his decision to transfer. Irving’s departure stings for the Gophers leaving them with just one healthy running back through the Spring.

Irving rushed for 700 yards and 4 touchdowns during his freshman season at Minnesota and he rushed for over 100 yards in three of the 11 games he played in. Out of high school, Irving was a 4-star prospect holding 24 offers, including Boston College, Cincinnati, Iowa, and Duke.

Where will Irving land? Irving will likely be a popular name in the portal due to his impressive production as a freshman. Illinois will have to take a look at Irving as that’s his home state and he is dynamic at catching the ball out of the backfield and would add a playmaker to the offense. Purdue is another school I’d expect to be interested in Irving’s services, they recruited him out of high school and made his top 12 before he chose to commit to Minnesota. One last school I’d keep an eye on is Iowa as they were involved with his recruitment out of high school and they love to run the ball. Other schools already showing interest include Rutgers, Virginia, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Utah, Utah State, BC, and Colorado.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
