Scouting Report

Kattus has solid height and weight. Displays good AA with good footwork, lateral agility, explosiveness, solid contact balance, and play strength. Shows solid gap-blocking ability in the run game which is seen in his solid mental processing to locate his assignment, execute blocks, and climb to the second level when needed all the while showing solid hands/initial punch placement. Displays solid zone-blocking ability on reach blocks with solid mental processing to locate his block and good footwork when moving in space. Shows solid pass protection ability to get to his set points with good lateral agility and footwork while maintaining a solid anchor with solid play strength. Adequate form; plays with consistently high leverage. Adequate zone-blocking on lead blocks; doesn’t excel when having to lead block from the OT spot. Inconsistent with locating blockers when he’s in front. Adequate form when pass protection; gives up his inside/chest easily which will let rushers use power inside which gives him trouble. Projects as a developmental OT who will take a couple of years to become a starter and perfect his game, however, he could move inside to highlight his strengths as a run-blocker in both gap schemes and short area zone schemes
