Scouting Report

Knighten has solid size and frame for an RB at the college level. His good acceleration and burst at the LOS give him the ability to hit the hole fast. Use of his very good COD and agility provides the opportunity to bounce runs to the outside or back inside. Has good elusiveness in the open field to make the first guy miss. Solid hands and route running out of the backfield. He finishes his runs always falling forward as well as breaking multiple arm tackles using his very good toughness, play strength, and physical running style. Adequate vision results in him bouncing a lot more runs to the outside then he should. Adequate pass pro technique due to not being asked to do it at the high school level. Needs to adjust his adequate leverage on runs that are in-between the tackles. Has to improve his adequate long speed to provide a bit more of a big play threat out of the backfield. Knighten has the potential to be an early down RB in his 2nd or 3rd year at a P5 institution.
