You can thank Action Network for putting together a listing of the most “cringe” fanbase in college sports. But schools like Georgia, Ohio State and Alabama aren’t as thankful since they top the list, with the Bulldogs leading the way.

The data was put together by analyzing thousands of social media posts on X and Reddit using Brandwatch. Georgia topped the list with 15,640 cringe-related posts. Who voted on what is or isn’t “cringe” is unknown, but the results are still interesting.

Here are the top 25 schools on the list:

  1. Georgia
  2. Ohio State
  3. Alabama
  4. Kentucky
  5. Tennessee
  6. Michigan
  7. Penn State
  8. Indiana
  9. Notre Dame
  10. Iowa
  11. Clemson
  12. Oklahoma
  13. Michigan State
  14. UConn
  15. Colorado
  16. Minnesota
  17. California
  18. LSU
  19. Purdue
  20. South Carolina
  21. Missouri
  22. Miami-Florida
  23. Utah
  24. Nebraska
  25. USC

While the SEC has four of the top five most “cringe” schools, the Big Ten is the most cringe conference with ten schools, followed by the SEC with eight, the ACC with three, the Big 12 has two and Notre Dame and UConn hit the list as independents.

Also, there are some larger programs that somewhat surprisingly are not on the list, such as Texas, Florida State, Texas A&M, Oregon and Florida. I guess their fanbases need to step up their online vitriol to move up the list for next year.
