Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Va., has a roster full of talented football players, including 2027 linebacker Odin Erickson.
At 6-foot, 215 pounds, Erickson was also the backup quarterback for the Warriors. Last season, Erickson racked up 100 tackles in only seven games played, leading the team and averaging 14 tackles per contest.
That was good enough for No. 2 in the State of Virginia overall and No. 9 nationally among sophomores, according to MaxPreps.
In addition, he forced six fumbles and posted double digit tackles in six games. As a result, Erickson earned 2024 All-District and All-Central Virginia honors.

The athleticism Erickson possesses is elite. Erickson is a standout baseball player, and track and field athlete. On the diamond last season, Erickson led the team in slugging percentage and was fourth on the team in batting average as a center fielder for Western Albemarle. Erickson also helped lead the Warriors to an indoor track and field state championship last season.
As a freshman in 2023, Erickson was an All-Conference center fielder for The Covenant School.
His coaches had high praise for Erickson.
“Odin plays with violence and is a turnover machine. Has great instincts and good angles; plays very fast sideline to sideline. Very fast.”
Western Albemarle head coach Seth Wilson had this to say about Erickson:
“Odin is a tackling machine, and leading our defense with unmatched intensity and heart … hard work, leadership and relentless drive.”
Erickson also excels in the classroom and maintains a 3.91 GPA. As a result of his brain and his brawn, Erickson is being recruited Ivy League, Patriot League and Coastal Athletic Association schools.
