With thousands of players transferring every year, it has become someone standard for a few shots to be fired by players at their old school. But those shots become a bit more awkward when they are taken by a player who hardly saw the field before his transfer.

Wide receiver Dayton Sneed played in three games as a true freshman in 2023 and then four games during his sophomore season. In total, he finished with two receptions for 19 yards. Since he entered the portal in April, he has found a new home with Bill Belichick at North Carolina.
Why would Coach Belichick want a transfer wide receiver who has totaled two receptions for 19 yards? Some don’t think it is a coincidence that his younger brother, Carson Sneed, is a Class of 2026 four-star tight end who has been committed to Tennessee since August. While he remains committed to the Vols, North Carolina has been working overtime on the potential flip since Dayton’s transfer.
Now back to Sneed’s shot at Tennessee. Did he mean to take a shot at the baseball program or did he think this ranking was for football? Either way, to call Tennessee’s football or baseball program “trash” is a bad look. Many schools would love to have their programs be “trash” if this was true.
Sneed likely will continue to be a role player at North Carolina after being used as a pawn to help flip his brother. Let him have his fun on social media, because chances are it won’t be happening on the field for him in Chapel Hill.
