High school football in Texas is king. Playing under the lights on Friday nights is football heaven for the players and the passionate fans that support them.
In Marble Falls, Texas (pop. 7,903) the townspeople close their businesses and make their way to Mustangs Stadium to support their favorite Marble Falls High School sons as they march onto the gridiron for battle. One of those favorite sons is 2026 running back/cornerback Joaquin Aguilar.
In 2024, Aguilar rushed for 764 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. In addition, he added 175 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Altogether, Aguilar recorded almost 1,000 total yards (939 yards) from scrimmage. When the Mustangs were on defense, Aguilar intercepted two passes from his cornerback position.
Aguilar started off the 2024 season with 109 yards and a TD in a 56-0 rout of Crockett.

Joaquin Aguilar
Last season, Aguilar earned Honorable Mention All-District for his production on the gridiron.
Aguilar’s athletic achievements do not stop at football. He is a star on the soccer team and participates in track and field. On the soccer field, Aguilar is a striker for the Mustangs, and a good one. So good that Aguilar earned first-team All-District 4-4A.
In track and field, Aguilar was a regional qualifier after placing fourth in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 8-inches. In addition, he also qualified for regionals in the 4×400 relay.
Aguilar has showcased his talent for football and soccer at the varsity level since he was a sophomore. As he enters his senior season, Aguilar’s talent, athleticism and skill levels will only improve.
As one of the top running backs in Texas for 2026, college coaches should pay attention. They should clog the highways leading to Marble Falls with a caravan of cars in search of a talented running back with the name “AGUILAR” on the back of his jersey.
The Godfather of Recruiting, Mike Farrell, had this to say about Aguilar:
“2026 verified 3 -star RB/DB Joaquin Aguilar is slippery and physical as heck.”
