As has been proven countless times through the years, collegiate success does not always equate to professional success. Taulia Tagovailoa found that out yesterday as he weas released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after one season with the organization.
Why did the #Ticats cut QB Taulia Tagovailoa?

Tagovailoa, brother of former Alabama and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, began his collegiate career with the Crimson Tide before transferring to Maryland. He had an extremely successful career with the Terps, passing for 11,256 yards and 77 touchdowns while being a three-year starter.
After going undrafted in 2024, Tagovailoa had an unsuccessful mini-camp tryout with Seattle before signing with Hamilton. With the Tiger-Cats he began the season on the practice roster, then dressed for the final eight games. During his limited time on the field, he completed his only pass attempt for six yards, while rushing three times for 10 yards and one touchdown.
With CFL pre-season training camps starting up, Tagovailoa should have an opportunity to sign with another team in the coming days.
