For a game that didn’t have much juice a couple of months ago, Alabama’s trip to Florida State on August 30th is quickly becoming must-watch television. More gasoline was thrown on the fire this morning when Alabama linebacker Deontae Lawson shared his thoughts on previous comments made by Thomas Castellanos.

Castellanos, who transferred to Florida State during the winter from Boston College, has been in the headlines consistently since his arrival in Tallahassee. And his focus has mainly been on the season opener against Alabama. Most memorable was his opinion that “They don’t have Nick Saban to save them.”

Since then it has been a steady stream of responses from Tuscaloosa. But it wasn’t until this morning at SEC Media Days that the players had their opportunity to speak to the press. And they did not disappoint.

Castellanos may have been right about one thing he said earlier this year. He felt disrespected that the game wasn’t in primetime, which at the time of the comment seemed clueless. But since then he has worked overtime to make it a primetime worthy game. So, while the game is at 3:30, you can be sure that plenty of eyes will be watching to see how Castellanos performs and how personally the Tide players have taken his comments.

I know I’ll be watching.
