Thomas Castellanos has been extremely outspoken since his transfer from Boston College to Florida State. And it has rubbed many people the wrong way. You can add former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron to this growing list.

As one of the hosts of The Dynasty podcast, McCarron, who was with the Tide from 2009 to 2013, was also extremely outspoken regarding the new Florida State quarterback. Castellanos’ recent comments regarding Alabama and the upcoming season-opener between the Seminoles and Tide rubbed McCarron the wrong way.

“Hey Thomas, you might want to stay quiet on this one,” said McCarron. “Just go out and play. Now, you just added fuel to the fire brother. I promise you I wouldn’t want to be you first game of the year. I don’t care how well you can run or how well you can throw it. Once you stand in that pocket and get hit a couple of times, that accuracy that dipped that cost you the starting job, you better find it quick this offseason and during this game because it’s not going to be fun.”

McCarron was quick to point out that Castellanos is arriving at a difficult situation in Tallahassee after having a disappointing season at Boston College.

“You’re going to a team that was 17th out of 17 teams in the ACC,” said McCarron. “You’re leaving a team and lost the starting job where you finished 9th in the ACC. Listen, I’m all for confidence, but this is stupidity. Just ask, if he still has a relationship which I doubt it since he yanked him from the starting job, Bill O’Brien. Call him up. Ask Bill how Alabama is. What type of players they have. How they play the game. Let him tell you.”

He concluded his assault on Castellanos by predicting another possible transfer.

“If you’re a guy like Thomas, keep your mouth shut, go to work and let your play do the talking,” McCarron said. “But now, you’ve done ran your mouth, and you better back it up in the game or you’re going to hear about it all year. And you might lose your job again and have to enter the transfer portal once again.”

Only time will tell how Castellanos will perform in 2025, but everyone should thank him for injecting some serious juice into the Florida State/Alabama season opener.
