Texas quarterback Arch Manning will be featured on “SEC Inside: Looking For Answers” at 8 p.m. ET tonight. There is a lot of hype and expectations around Manning coming into the season. This will be his first season as the starting quarterback for the Longhorns.

Anticipation and Expectations

The anticipation for this moment is massive, and it doesn’t get much bigger than their week one opening game at Ohio State. With the Longhorns, looking for revenge for their semifinal College Football Playoff loss from last year. The Longhorns are the preseason No. 1-ranked team in the country as they enter their second season in the SEC. They came out with a bang in their first SEC season, making it to the conference championship game where lost to Georgia. The expectations are high, and the only place to climb is to get to the national championship game. On top of that Manning is listed as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season.

Longhorns’ Title Shot

This is their best shot in a long time to climb to the top of the mountain. The SEC is wide open this year, and Texas has a loaded roster. Whether you’re a Longhorns fan or not, they are going to be must-see college football TV this season with multiple storylines surrounding the team.

Can Steve Sarkisian get them to the promise land? Will Manning live up to expectations? And possibly the biggest storyline is whether or not Manning can do something that his uncles, Peyton and Eli never did. That is win a college football national championship. Manning will also be trying to do something that Eli never did, but Peyton did. Peyton won an SEC Championship, leading the Tennessee Volunteers to victory in the 1997 title game.

Austin, Texas, will be buzzing this season and the pressure will be as big as it gets for a college football team. The talents that Manning has combined with his last name, make him one of the most highly anticipated players in a while. Especially as he makes his season opening start at The Shoe against the defending national champion, Buckeyes. It’s win or bust this season for the Longhorns. The fun begins Aug. 30.
