[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”255″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Arch Manning will end up at Texas.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Okay this is a guess as no one knows where the nephew of Eli and Peyton will land. But based on what I hear the two lead dogs are Texas and Alabama and he visits Tuscaloosa again shortly. So why not Alabama? They are the better program, they have a QB opening of sorts after Bryce Young leaves and it’s Nick Saban. It’s just a hunch but I know Arch and his family love Austin, they really like Steve Sarkisian as a quarterback developer and Texas gives him a good feel as a college student. Why does that last part matter? Trust me it does. The family wants him to have as close to a normal college life as possible. And right now I think he favors Austin.

2. Lane Kiffin is the portal king.

Farrell’s take: FACT.

For this year he is anyhow. Jaxon Dart, Zach Evans, and many more are huge gets for the Rebels from the portal as they edge out USC and some others to me. But let’s not forget Mel Tucker was the king last year and Gus Malzahn at UCF has done a solid job the last two years. This crown isn’t permanent but Kiffin has it now.

3. Travon Walker should be ahead of Aidan Hutchinson and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Farrell’s take: FACT.

This was a real debate in my head. Thibodeaux has long been considered the top edge rusher in this draft but Hutchinson passed him slightly with a great season last year. But with Walker’s amazing Combine and his ability against the run as well as being a great pass rusher, he’s the guy I would take first off the board as an EDGE. Yes I know there are those who think the combine is overrated as an evaluation tool but those people aren’t watching Walker’s tape. It’s exceptional as well.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
