Arizona State had an unexpectedly magical 2024 season, which culminated in a #7 ranking in the final AP poll. However, at least one early 2025 prediction is still not giving the Sun Devils any respect. And head coach Kenny Dillingham was quick to take note of it.
Barstool Sports is generally seen as entertainment. How seriously anyone takes their sports analysis and predictions is up to the individual, but considering it is a media company with a huge imprint, people do take note. This prediction quickly caused a reaction:

It is easy to question a number of these rankings, but having Arizona State at #8 in the Big 12 is laughable. The Sun Devils will be returning most of their important players and added a few nice new pieces through the portal. Yet they are predicted to finish behind Oklahoma State and TCU.
Yes, Arizona State does lose star running back Cam Skattebo, but the cupboard is far from bare at the position. Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for Coach Dillingham to repost the predictions:

You can be sure that Coach Dillingham will use predictions like this as motivation for his team. He is quickly becoming one of the best young head coaches in the country. Aside from being a very good gameday coach, he has also shown an impressive ability to motivate his team and relate to his players. Barstool just gave him free ammunition to use during the off-season.
