Which backs in the Big Ten are the best bets to top the 1,000-yard mark in 2023?

1. Braelon Allen, Wisconsin

Dec 27, 2022; Phoenix, Arizona, USA; Wisconsin Badgers running back Braelon Allen (0) runs the ball for a touchdown against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the second half of the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bowl at Chase Field.

2. Nick Singleton, Penn State

Nov 12, 2022; University Park, Pennsylvania, USA; Penn State Nittany Lions running back Nicholas Singleton (10) runs with the ball during the first quarter against the Maryland Terrapins at Beaver Stadium.

3. Donovan Edwards, Michigan

Oct 15, 2022; Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA; Michigan Wolverines running back Donovan Edwards (7) rushes in the second half against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Michigan Stadium.

4. Blake Corum, Michigan

Nov 5, 2022; Piscataway, New Jersey, USA; Michigan Wolverines running back Blake Corum (2) carries the ball against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights during the first half at SHI Stadium.

5. TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State

Nov 19, 2022; College Park, MD, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson (32) carries the ball against Maryland Terrapins in the second quarter of their Big Ten game at SECU Stadium.

Breakdown:

Allen, to me, is the easiest lock to predict, even with the new offense. Singleton just surpassed 1,000 yards last season, but Kaytron Allen had more carries. I have Edwards ahead of Corum for a couple of reasons. Edwards is due for a massive breakout season and could be next year’s Bijan Robinson, and Corum has that injury to recover from. After that, No. 5 is a toss-up, but assuming Henderson comes back strong and the foot issue doesn’t impact him, he’s gotta be on there.
