There haven’t been too many stunning transfer portal entries during the winter, but that all changed with the news that Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is planning to make himself available.

The one-time first round NFL Draft prospect had a relatively tough season with the Bulldogs. He passed for 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns, but also led the SEC with 12 interceptions. He then injured his elbow during the SEC Championship Game against Texas which caused him to miss the playoff game against Notre Dame.
Approximately two weeks ago he announced his intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, but something since has changed his mind. The realization that his injury would hinder any chances of him working out with teams before the Draft, thus dropping his stock even further after a disappointing season, became even more real.
Word is already out that Miami is Beck’s likely destination

While Miami looms as the favorite for Beck, a source said that Beck’s camp intends to listen to all potential suitors for the best situation: “It’s a strategic thing, not an emotional thing," the source said.

Miami would make sense, as the Canes are still in the market for a Cameron Ward replacement. While Beck doesn’t seem likely to participate during spring practice, he should be a full participant during the summer at his new school. One more collegiate season will also allow him to bring his stock back up for the 2026 NFL Draft.
You never know when the transfer portal will give everyone a surprise.
