On Wednesday, it was announced that beginning next season the Ivy League would allow their conference champion to play in the FCS postseason. The decision was a surprise to most and the reactions have been very positive. Three recent grad transfers were contacted to get their opinions and thoughts on the historic change.

“It’s awesome. It’s frustrating we didn’t get to partake in the playoffs, but super pumped for the league and the experience the players have the opportunity to make.”
OL Will Reed – Princeton (offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Stanford)
“As a former Princeton lineman who spent four years in the Ivy League trenches, I am psyched that we will finally earn a seat at the FCS playoff table. It was tough knowing our squad was as talented as many, but never had the chance to compete at the highest level. I think a couple of our teams over the last four years could have had a shot. I’m excited for the players who will now get that chance. The Ivy League has always been a talented conference with great players, but we have been sidelined when it came to the national stage. These younger athletes will now get to experience the thrill of the FCS playoffs. It’s a monumental step for Ivy League football, adding a new level of competition and providing an opportunity to showcase just how talented our league and its players really are. I may not have had that opportunity during my time at Princeton, but I’ll be cheering for my brothers—and for all the Ivy League teams—now that they’re finally able to compete for an FCS championship.”
