With Gus Malzahn officially leaving UCF to take the offensive coordinator position at Florida State on Sunday, the Knights have been working overtime to try and find their next head coach. And now it seems as though they have quickly zeroed in on their top target.

With the transfer portal opening in less than a week, finding a new head coach quickly is a priority. The Knights realize this and know who they want

Jamey Chadwell has proven himself as a winner. He has done it at the Division II level, the FCS level and at the FBS level with Coastal Carolina and now Liberty. He has also been rumored for P4 jobs several times so the Knights are doing the right thing acting quickly here.

But will UCF be able to seal the deal? Once rumors start to leak out that a coaching target has become a priority, it is vital that everything is finalized as soon as possible. The next 24 hours are vital for the Knights if they truly want this to happen, and if it does, they can quickly turn their attention to National Signing Day and the transfer portal.

Buckle up if you’re a UCF fan.
