After spending three seasons as a backup at Georgia, Brock Vandagriff decided to transfer to Kentucky
with the chance to get playing time. He battled through multiple injuries while starting 11 games in
2024.
“It wasn’t like I was fired up to go in there every day. As a quarterback that’s kind of what you need.
Your team relies on you and I didn’t feel like I was able to be at my best every day because of the whole
situation.” He tells Ryne Dennis of the Athens-Banner Herald.
The Wildcats went 4-7 with Vandagriff under center. He passed for 1,593 yards and 10 touchdowns, but
did throw eight interceptions. The season was highlighted with a 20-17 road victory over #6 Ole Miss
when he threw for 243 yards and a touchdown.

He had another year of eligibility and Kentucky coach Mark Stoops wanted him back. “He said basically
we could do this and we could do that and we’d love you to come back.” Vandagriff said. “I just said,
coach, it’s nothing against your program or you at all. It was more of my decision more than anything
else…”
Vandagriff has already moved on from football. He is a medical devices sales rep for Zimmer Biomet, a
medical technology company. “I’m so happy at where I’m at in life right now, I don’t think there’s any
number, any program that could make me come back,” he said.
