Colorado, Rutgers lead Kool Aid drinkers

With the season quickly approaching, here are five fanbases that are set up for disappointment

Top five fan bases buying into what could be a disastrous season…

1. Colorado

The obvious choice. Sometimes I think this team could go 7-5 and other times I wonder if they will be 4-8 again or even 3-9. It’s hard to gauge as the hype surrounding the program and Deion’s iconic presence can make you believe but it could all be smoke and mirrors.

2. Rutgers

I say this kindly, but Rutgers is never good. I’ve seen some say they could be a sleeper playoff team and others say they could be a real problem in the Big Ten. They’ve had a winning record once in 9 seasons and that was last years 7-6 mark with a bowl win over a Miami team that didn’t want to be there.

3. Miami

I’d be remiss to leave Miami out as many feel this is the year they push for the ACC title. The schedule is garbage and easy but let’s remember one thing — while they could win EVERY game, they could also lose to Florida, USF, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Florida State, Duke and Georgia Tech. 6-6 season loading? Maybe.

4. Nebraska

I have to include my old friends at Nebraska. While I believe in Matt Rhule as the best coach there since Bo Pelini, this has also been the way of the Huskers. Get excited and then lose game after game in an unimaginable way.

5. Oklahoma State

Ranked in the pre-season top 25, they have a strong rushing attack, but the defense is suspect and the quarterback play is bad. They gave up 30 or more points in 8 of 13 games last season and can’t afford to get into shootouts.
