The wheel of college football realignment continues to turn and the latest rumor that is out there involves Texas A&M possibly heading to the Big 10. This move would give the conference inroads into Texas and the southern United States after expanding to the West Coast with the additions of USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington.

According to a tweet from The Greg Swaim Show which has not been verified or corroborated by another source, the Big 10 and Texas A&M have been having third part talks about the Aggies moving conferences. According to Swaim’s source the Big 10 will “have a Texas school in the conference by 2026”. The Gig’em Gazzette which is an unofficial Texas A&M website has dispelled the rumors, opining that the move wouldn’t make sense financially or from an athletic standpoint. It is no secret that the Aggies were not happy when Texas was invited to join the SEC along with Oklahoma. If the whispers are true, the Aggies would be given veto power by the Big 10 to block any future Texas move to the conference at a later date.
