We’re going to take a look at which SEC teams are consistent, which ones are on the rise, and which ones are in panic mode.

Consistent

Alabama

This one speaks for itself. Nobody in the entire country is as consistent as Alabama has been since 2008. A two-loss season is considered a nightmare in Tuscaloosa. They also have the number one recruiting class coming in, so they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon as long as Nick Saban wants to continue coaching.

Georgia

Georgia is the back-to-back defending national champions. Georgia is the new standard in college football, at least over the past two seasons. Kirby Smart is still young and looks to be in Athens for a very long time.

Kentucky

Some of you might be thinking “What the heck, Kentucky?”. They haven’t been competing for national championships, but they have been very consistent since Mark Stoops took over. If you look at where Kentucky was before him, you would understand why they’re on here.

On The Rise

Tennessee

Tennessee came out of nowhere last year and was even ranked number one at one point in the season. They still have to get better defensively, but if they do, they will be scary good again. I say Tennessee is on the rise, but they might already be here. It’ll take a few seasons like the last for them to move up to consistent.

LSU

The Louisiana State Tigers were laughed at a little last off-season after they hired Brian Kelly. He shut everyone up by going 10-4, beating Alabama, going to the SEC Championship, and beating Purdue 63-7 in the Citrus Bowl. LSU returns Jayden Daniels under center, which is huge and will be looking to build off this past season.

South Carolina

Shane Beamer has done a great job at South Carolina since he took over. He has completely changed the culture there and finally has fans excited for Gamecock football. They keep improving every year and I believe that trend will continue.

In Turmoil:

Auburn

Auburn is in a tough spot right now. Their two biggest rivals are Alabama and Georgia which happen to be two of the top programs in all of college sports. They just hired Hugh Freeze, so we’ll see what happens, but it looks like a hard road ahead for the Tigers.

Florida

Florida’s season looked optimistic after they beat Utah in week one last year, but it was downhill after that. And with the recent Jaden Rashada situation, it looks like Florida is falling behind in NIL as well. They need to get Billy Napier some help, or it might turn into a nightmare in Gainesville.

Texas A&M

This one is obvious. Jimbo Fisher continues to underperform each year and last season might have been his worst. They were ranked in the preseason top ten and finished 5-7. The joke before was that they would always lose four games, not seven. There needs to be a monumental turnaround there or Fisher’s days might be numbered, if the Aggies can afford his buyout.
