Fact or Fiction: The Shrinking Big House, Greg Roman to College, Who Gets Jalen Hurts

In Mike Farrell’s Fact or Fiction, he determines if removing seats at Michigan Stadium is a good idea…

In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Michigan made the right move by removing seats.

Farrell’s take: FACT

We saw with the Penn State and then Michigan State situations that the antiquated tunnel situation at Michigan needs to be addressed. While removing some seats to make more room for the players entering and leaving the field is an okay idea, there is probably more coming. With this change and added security, hopefully, we have seen our last player brawl in the Big House.

After the Michigan Wolverines beat the Michigan State Spartans, 29-7, to reclaim the Paul Bunyan Trophy, players from both teams had a shoving match on the Michigan Stadium field Saturday, October 29, 2022.

2. Greg Roman should be the next Michigan OC.

Farrell’s take: FACT

He probably won’t be, as Jim Harbaugh will likely promote from within, but I love Roman as an OC. He’s done wonders in many spots with Harbaugh and built an offense around Lamar Jackson and his running ability. Imagine what he could do with this run attack and JJ McCarthy.

3. Jalen Hurts should be claimed by Sooners fans.

Farrell’s take: FACT

This is dumb, I know, but it’s a debate I’ve seen. And the rule to me is clear — the last team you starred for is the team you came from. That includes Russell Wilson and Wisconsin, Joe Burrow and LSU, Jameson Williams and Alabama, and yes, Hurts and Oklahoma.
