In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. The UGA rout makes Jim Harbaugh look horrible.

Farrell’s take: FACT

How on earth did Michigan not do this to TCU? The over pursuit by the undersized TCU defense is so obvious now that we see Kirby Smart and Todd Monken expose it and Harbaugh just looks awful. Michigan tried to be too cute and not overpower this weak and undisciplined TCU defense and if I was a Michigan fan I’d be upset.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh signals for a timeout in the first quarter against TCU during the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 31 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

2. Blake Corum has another 1,000 yard season.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Coming back was the right move for Corum who rushed for 1,463 yards this past season before getting hurt and another big year is in store. Donovan Edwards will be hard to deal with as well for Michigan opponents and I can see both of them reaching the 1,000 yard mark in a run heavy offense (as usual) next season.

Nov 5, 2022; Piscataway, New Jersey, USA; Michigan Wolverines running back Blake Corum (2) carries the ball against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights during the first half at SHI Stadium.

3. Cam Rising’s return means Utah will be the favorite in the PAC 12.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

To me Utah is the favorite but let’s be real, we all know Lincoln Riley and USC will be the favorite behind QB Caleb Williams while others might pick Bo Nix and Oregon. The national media will fall for the glitz of USC and Oregon but Utah is gonna be hard to handle. Keep sleeping.

Sep 17, 2022; Salt Lake City, Utah, USA; Utah Utes quarterback Cameron Rising (7) throws the ball in the first quarter against the San Diego State Aztecs at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
