I begin my Power Five conference predictions with the Big Ten. You’re welcome.
EAST
1. Michigan (playoff)
— This is Harbaugh’s best roster overall and the schedule plays out well. They just need to win against the Buckeyes.

2. Ohio State
— The lone loss to Michigan leads to questions about Ryan Day’s future.

3. Penn State
— 2024 is the year for Penn State in many ways, but another 10-win season could happen. But the losses will still be to Michigan and Ohio State.

4. Maryland
— Mike Locksley has done a solid job and I have them losing to Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Illinois.

5. Michigan State
— A bowl game will be tough as this is a rough schedule, and a 5-7 year could easily happen.

6. Rutgers
— 4 wins would be a solid season. That’s where Rutgers football is at.

7. Indiana
— Tom Allen had a nice run, but this could be his last season. And it shouldn’t be. He’s the right coach for them.

WEST
1. Wisconsin
— Luke Fickell and the Air Raid will have success early, which is scary, because it usually takes a year or so with roster development.

2. Iowa
— Cade McNamara is a good fit for a bad offense, and the defense will be amazing, as usual.

3. Illinois
— The defense will be excellent again, and the offense should be improved, despite losing Chase Brown. 7-5 wouldn’t be bad.

4. Minnesota
— The Gophers are tough to gauge, and having them fourth is tough, but the schedule has five losses.

5. Purdue
— I like Hudson Card, and the offense should be okay, but it will take a couple years for Ryan Walters and the defense.

6. Nebraska
— Matt Rhule is the right guy for this team, but 6-6 is the ceiling.

7. Northwestern
— 2-10 would be good for this mess of a program.
