Five Current Longest Home Winning Streaks & When They Will End

If you want to be a successful college football program, you have to establish a dominant presence at home. These five programs have the longest home winning streaks coming into this season, but what are the chances that these end in 2025?

1. Georgia (32 games)

Skinny: Most impressive during Georgia’s streak is that it has won 20 consecutive home games against SEC competition. However, there have been several close calls, such as their eight overtime 44-42 victory against Georgia Tech in the 2024 regular season finale.

When It Ends: The streak shouldn’t have any problem getting to 33 with the first two home games of 2025 coming against Marshall and Austin Peay. But the home conference schedule is full of pitfalls, with Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas coming to Athens. I think the Bulldogs will navigate the Tide and Rebels, as well as Kentucky, before stumbling at home against the Longhorns on November 15th.

2. Washington (20 games)

Skinny: This one likely comes as a surprise to many, but the Huskies are riding high with a streak of 20 games. The streak began with the opener against Kent State in 2022 and has successfully navigated two seasons in the PAC 12 and then one in the Big Ten.

When It Ends: Games against Colorado State and UC Davis shouldn’t be an issue, but a huge hurdle is looming on September 27th against Ohio State. Even if the Huskies are able to pull off the upset against the Buckeyes, they still have Illinois and Oregon at home later in the season, so the streak is on thin ice. Don’t expect the streak to go into October though.

3. Oregon (15 games)

Skinny: Since losing at home to Washington on November 22, 2022, the Ducks have won 15 straight. Along the way, there have been a couple of close calls, most notably last season against Ohio State and Boise State, but most of the wins have been comfortable.

When It Ends: This streak has a legitimate chance of reaching 22 games after this season. The Ducks will be favored in every home game, and despite a couple of potential missteps (Indiana, USC), they should be able to navigate the schedule. They will enter the 2026 season with the longest home winning streak in the country.

4. Alabama (12 games)

Skinny: Alabama had a streak of 23 straight home wins snapped by Texas on September 9, 2023, but then promptly began a new 12 game streak which has included ranked wins over Tennessee, LSU, Georgia and Missouri.

When It Ends: The early season out-of-conference schedule is very manageable (Louisiana-Monroe, Wisconsin), but as expected, there will be a couple of huge challenges in the SEC. While Vanderbilt would like to think that they can follow-up their improbable 2024 home victory with a victory in Tuscaloosa, it is more likely that Tennessee and LSU will prove to be bigger hurdles. That hurdle may be too much for the Tide to navigate against the Tigers, so expect the streak to end at 16 against LSU on November 8th.

5. Boise State (12 games)

Skinny: The Broncos have won 12 straight since a loss in the home opener in 2023 against UCF, which came on a game-ending 55-yard field goal. Boise State has long established its home field as a one of the toughest venues in college football.

When It Ends: Boise State rules the Mountain West Conference, so they will continue to be home favorites. But there are two interesting games in 2025. One is an out-of-conference game against Appalachian State on September 27th, while the other is against a rising conference opponent, UNLV, on October 18th. However, while both of these games are challenges, expect the Broncos to win and finish the season with an 18-game home streak.
