We’re back after another week of exciting games and matchups. The
coaches along with the AP have their own poll and rankings each
week, but I have mine as well. Not too much has changed, but let’s
check out this week.

1. Georgia

Georgia still remains at the top of the list after their
performance against Ole Miss this past weekend. Lane Kiffin
brought maybe his best team yet to town, with the Rebs ranked in the top 10, but they still ended up with a loss. Georgia did
what they usually do and handled business. They have one more real
test before the postseasonf next week against Tennessee on the road.

2. Michigan

“America’s Team,” as Jim Harbaugh would call it, came
out on top again in a gritty win against Penn State on the road.
Heisman candidate J.J McCarthy only completed eight passes for 70
yards, but they still found a way to win. You can give credit to the
offensive line, along with Blake Corum and others, for this win as
they pounded the Nittany Lions on the ground 46 times for 227
yards. They go on the road next week against Maryland.

3. Florida State

The Seminoles keep their undefeated record after edging
out a win against their hated rival Miami 27-20. Heisman candidate Jordan Travis put the team on his back once again, throwing for 265
yards and a score. That gives Florida State their first back-to-back
10-win seasons since 2016-2017.

4. Washington

Washington moved down a spot this week, but it wasn’t
because of anything they did. I just feel like Florida State’s defense
is a little better with more athletes all-around in general. Even with
that being so, the Huskies are still legit. They pulled out another
tough win against a very good Utah team with a score of 35-28. We
all know they can score with the best of them, but the best thing that
came out of this game is that they completely shut out the Utes from
scoring in the second half. They will surely be tested next week at
Oregon State, but if the defense can play up to their potential, then
watch out.

Nov 11, 2023; Seattle, Washington, USA; The Washington Huskies celebrate after a fourth down defensive stop against the Utah Utes during the second half at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.

5. Ohio State

The Buckeyes handled business against an overmatched
Michigan State team this weekend in a blowout 38-3. I have been a
little skeptical of Kyle McCord all season, given his inconsistent
play, but he certainly showed up this past weekend. He ended up
throwing for 335 yards, along with three scores. The biggest
performance, though, probably came from Marvin Harrison Jr. He
caught all three of McCord’s touchdown passes on seven catches for 149
yards. He has had at least 100 yards receiving in six of his past
seven games, with a score in each of the past six. He just might be
back in the thick of the Heisman race.
