There is plenty of hope around LSU that the Tigers could make some noise during the 2025 season. Two of those reasons are Harold Perkins and Whit Weeks, however, head coach Brian Kelly recently announced that both linebackers will be missing all of spring ball as they recover from injuries.

Both Weeks and Perkins are All-American caliber linebackers, so getting them healthy for the season is vital to the success of the Tigers next season. While having any player miss spring practice due to an injury is disappointing, both Weeks and Perkins are veterans who shouldn’t have any issues getting back into the swing of things once they are 100% healthy.
Also, this news wasn’t necessarily surprising. Perkins, who tore his ACL in September, is on pace to be back at near full strength by June. And Weeks, who broke his fibula during the Texas Bowl, is out of his walking boot and easing his way back into football activities.

While Perkins only saw the field during four games last season due to his injury, his 2023 season is something that LSU fans hope he can get back to. That season he finished with 75 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Weeks, who transferred in from Virginia prior to the 2023 season, had a breakout season in 2024 with 125 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Having both healthy and playing at full throttle will give LSU one of the elite defensive duos in the SEC in 2025.
