Just yesterday I mentioned in my article about the arrest of Tulsa offensive coordinator Ty Darlington that July is always a month that a few players (and coaches) make bad decisions. You can add Auburn wide receiver Malcolm Simmons to this list, after he arrest yesterday afternoon on domestic assault charges.

The domestic assault charges, which according to jail records were done by strangulation or suffocation, occurred in an elevator. Footage from the elevator was obtained by TMZ.

Auburn did release a short statement regarding the arrest: “We are aware of the situation, are gathering the facts, and will address the situation.” Since this is still an evolving situation, expect more information to be released in the coming hours, days and weeks.
