When a head coach is fired, a program tries to turn the page as quickly as possible. Michigan State has done a pretty good job of doing that after Mel Tucker’s termination, but now they’ll have to rehash old memories with the news that there is an ongoing NCAA investigation taking place due to alleged recruiting violations.
Kim Kozlowski of The Detroit News reported the allegations on Wednesday night. This came after an editorial board meeting with Michigan State President Kevin Guskiewicz. Kozlowski reported that Guskiewicz did not indicate the level of seriousness of the alleged violations.

Tucker was fired by Michigan State on September 27, 2023, after coaching 34 games with the Spartans. The firing occurred due to a violation in his contract following a confidential complaint of sexual harassment filed against him.
More specific details regarding the investigation have yet to be made public, but Guskiewicz is scheduled to have a meeting with the NCAA next week to discuss the issue.
