Michigan Thinks That Everyone is Stupid

After yet another suspension in Ann Arbor, it is time for even the biggest Michigan fan to acknowledge that rules were broken

Deny, deny and deny has been Michigan’s motto during all the allegations that have been thrown their way during the last couple of years. It is the same mentality that young children use when they are cornered into an explanation.

But after the news emerged this morning that head coach Sherrone Moore would be self-implementing a two-game suspension during the 2025 season for the sign-stealing scandal centered around former staffer Connor Stalions, it is obvious that Michigan believes that anyone who is non-Michigan is stupid.

They would like everyone to believe that while former head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended twice and Moore will also be dealing with his second suspension, they are innocent of all accusations. They would like everyone to believe that the sudden announcement of their president, Santa Ono, taking the same job at Florida was just coincidental timing and has nothing to do with what has been going on with the football program. They would like everyone to believe that everything is perfectly normal in Ann Arbor. But it isn’t.

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that the Stalions ordeal was real. We wouldn’t still be talking about it in May 2025 if it wasn’t. And I for one wish that we weren’t still talking about it. But at this point only the people with the brightest maize and blue glasses still claim innocence.

The Wolverines won a National Championship in 2023, which will never be taken away no matter how long the Stalions mess lingers. And for many Michigan fans that’s the only thing that matters, which I can understand. But it is time for the fans who are somehow still in denial to acknowledge that not everything that was going on during Coach Harbaugh’s tenure was squeaky clean.

Corners were cut and rules were bypassed, skirted, sidestepped, dodged and ducked. Nobody thinks that Michigan is the only school doing this, but they were the ones who got caught doing it. And because of that it is time for all their fans to finally take their pill and admit that they were in the wrong.
