Connor Stalions is preparing to tell his side of the story after allegations were waged against him for improper scouting, or “sign stealing,” throughout and prior to the 2023 college football season. The documentary, an episode titled “Sign Stealer” within the series “UNTOLD”, will be released on August 27th of this year and is expected to give a behind-the-scenes look into the situation that unfolded last season.

In November of 2023, Stalions stepped down from his position as an off-field analyst after he was accused of participating in the in-person scouting of future opponents. In-person scouting has been banned by the NCAA since 1994, originally banned to prevent larger schools from having an advantage over smaller schools that can’t afford to send individuals to perform in-person scouting.

Despite Stalions denying that Jim Harbaugh had any awareness or connections to his alleged actions, Harbaugh faced a three-game suspension from the Big Ten Conference. Harbaugh went on to lead the Michigan Wolverines to a 15-0 undefeated season, which was later confirmed by NCAA president Charlie Baker who said that the Wolverines won the National Championship “fair and square.”

Recently Tony Pettiti, the Big Ten Commissioner who was responsible for the punishments set forth upon Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines last year, commented on the situation saying that he was not surprised that it was being explored further as it garnered heavy attention last year.

Netflix is soon releasing a documentary on Connor Stalions.

As individuals dug into the situation taking place in Ann Arbor last season, it was also revealed that Connor Stalions had created a “Michigan Manifesto,” or a 600-page document outlining his plan to eventually be the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. If nothing else, he was dedicated. It’s safe to say he won’t be taking over the Wolverines program any time soon, especially with new head Coach Sherrone Moore ready to take the wheel.

With the new documentary coming out in just a month, it’ll be interesting to see how this story develops as the NCAA investigation is ongoing. Will Stalions tell the entire unbiased story or will it just be an opportunity for him to paint himself in a positive light?
