Every player in attendance at this week’s NFL Combine has dreams of crushing his performance. However, only a handful have the physical ability to actually do so. Nick Emmanwori of South Carolina possesses that ability and rose to the occasion to produce legendary results:

Everyone knew that Emmanwori, 6-foot-3 and 220-pounds, was physically gifted. But his test results went above-and-beyond what was expected. His 43-inch vertical was the highest EVER recorded for a player weighing at least 200 pounds and his 11-foot-6 broad jump was amongst the best ever for a player of his size, the best so far this year and placed him in the in the 98th percentile.

But it is the 40-yard dash that everyone is watching. And he responded by running a 4.40 and a 4.38. The latter put him in company with NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf as the only 6-foot-3 or taller players to ever run a sub- 4.40 40-yard dash and have a 40-plus inch vertical.
While some combine warriors aren’t as dominant on the football field, that isn’t something any NFL team needs to worry about with Emmanwori. During his three seasons with the Gamecocks he totaled 244 tackles, 11 passes defended and six interceptions, two of which he returned for a touchdown.

No matter what happens during the remainder of the NFL Combine this year, Emmanwori has already walked away as one of the week’s big winners.
