With EA officially announcing a timeline for the new college football video game, sports enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly awaiting the chance to dive into gameplay for the first time in over a decade. As the release date draws nearer, I’ve decided to predict the top-rated players in each position group. Let’s focus on which running backs will carry the load in the new game.
5. Ashton Jeantry – Boise State
Ashton Jeantry delivered a remarkable season, putting up 1,916 scrimmage yards and 19 total touchdowns. As the MWC offensive player of the year, he spearheaded the Boise State offense, which ranked 2nd in the conference in yards per game. Jeantry’s knack for breaking tackles and his exceptional vision, coupled with his versatility as a receiving threat, solidify his position as one of the most well-rounded backs in the nation.

4. TreVeyon Henderson – Ohio State
When Healthy, there’s no doubt that TreVeyon Henderson is one of the better backs in the country. Despite being projected as a day 2 pick in the NFL Draft, he surprised many by opting to return for another year at Ohio State. Henderson’s patience in the hole is what sets him apart, while his smooth running style and elusiveness make him a nightmare for defenders. Additionally, his ability to be a receiving option out of the backfield adds another dimension to his game.

3. Omarion Hampton – North Carolina
While Drake Maye was the headliner for the UNC offsene, Omarion Hampton quietly established himself as one of the premier running backs in the country last season. Ranking 5th in the nation in rushing yards and 1st in the ACC in rushing touchdowns, Hampton earned well-deserved All-ACC honors. His ability to identify running lanes and burst through them, combined with his willingness to absorb contact and shake off defenders, makes him a force to be reckoned with.

2. Quinshon Judkins – Ohio State
The Ole Miss transfer is coming off of a back to back thousand yard season with over 30 rushing touchdowns in his 2 years of college. His impressive numbers coming against formidable SEC defenses highlight his exceptional speed, agility, and strength. Judkins’ ability to evade tacklers and break through initial contact is 2nd to none. Him being paired with Henderson promises for some fun formation packages in the video game.

1. Ollie Gordon – Oklahoma State
No other running back in the nation had a better break out year than Ollie Gordon. After only having 19 carries and 109 yards combined in the first 3 games, Gordon exploded onto the scene, accumulating 1,116 yards rushing in just six games. Gordon would go on to finish the season with 1,732 yards (ranking first in the country) and 21 touchdowns (ranking 2nd) At 6 ‘1 211 pounds, Gordon is a huge load that can change speeds at the blink of an eye. He has tremendous vision and is very quick and agile for his size which should make him one of the best backs to use in the game.
